Final Days in Normandy
The small city of Bayeux drew us back again. We stayed in a city hotel for 2 more nights and explored the local area. Bayeux was great for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was friendly people. Also, a great Bio Coop and pet food store. I have a little video of the town river walk, but it’s not loading. I’ll try later when I have a stronger internet connection.
We took a long walk ~4.8km each way which is why Mango needed to rest for about 45 minutes in her pack. It was a beautiful walk. At the end of the walk is first a church and cemetery, and then the promise of ice cream at an ice cream farm. But alas the store was closed when we arrived. I had packed a little picnic for us, so no problem. We sat for a spell enjoying the peace, and then headed back with Mango in the pack.
The beach photos are of a popular seaside WWII memorial town called Arromanches-les-Bains. There is a museum and a 360 surround theater with a war memorial film. We did not go to either, the noise for the cinema would have been too much for little Mango. We enjoyed the salt air and the scene.
