First Days in Brittany

We landed in a sweet spot in Brittany, Guemene-sur-Scorff. We’ve taken some walks through the little town, met some cows, had the most delicious bread and local sheep cheese, and have had the pleasure of cooking delicious food for Mango and for me, too. :)

I’m funny to take a photo of the bakery from inside and through the window of the cafe where I enjoyed a coffee and croissant. But the cat in the window captured me and so I did.

Traveling with Mango really is the excuse that I of course don’t need, to travel the way I like. Which is slowly, walking, discovering people and nature, local scenes and spaces. To randomly happen onto unplanned treasures, Little conversations with other dog walkers. I’m not so much about museums. But I do love churches. The church in town here is always open, and we enjoyed the calm and peace this morning during our walk, popping in to sit a spell. This way of traveling, I feel and sense the land, the history, the way of the place which is what I find nourishing and pleasurable.

This little town also has placards around that share the history of the town, with images of ways of life and folks from the past simply working and living.

I’ve taken little videos—of the seaweed in the river, of birdsong as we walk, and of the cows. But the internet isn’t loading those well so I’ll try again later, down the road.

The adjoining property to the Gite where we are staying has grazing pregnant cows. You’ll see that some are more pregnant than others. :)

Last night I did a small group Blessingway and Birth Prep session for one of our beloved students of My Divine Path of Motherhood, she is 36 weeks. Before choosing a place for this leg of our adventure, I did ask/intend that our stay would be supportive of my purpose in offering the session. Of course I had no idea that there were pregnant cows here, or that that would be meaningful to our pregnant friend who had grown up on a farm, having seen and experienced cows giving birth.

On our evening walk, before the session, the 5 pregnant cows were grazing up near the Gite. Mango was so curious! This morning they were again up top, and our host took some photos for me as we got back from breakfast in town. Later we enjoyed reading and listening to them eat the grass. Wonderful and unexpected plus to our stay here.
